CELINA, Ohio, Aug. 2, 2023 — Shannon Osterfeld, Associate Actuary at Celina Insurance Group, recently earned the Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) designations.
The ACAS program is administered by the Casualty Actuarial Society, a leading organization for actuarial credentialing and professional education. To earn the ACAS designation, candidates must complete a set of requirements, including passing a series of rigorous exams. After earning the ACAS designation and meeting additional conditions, Osterfeld also qualified as an MAAA.
“I enjoy using analytical skills to support strategic decision-making within the organization,” Osterfeld said. “The requirements for the ACAS and MAAA designations are extensive, and the knowledge I gained in working toward them will help me both in my role as an Actuary now and with topics that I might encounter later.”
Osterfeld graduated from The Ohio State University. She has worked for Celina for four years and was recently promoted to her current role of Associate Actuary.
“Shannon is a vital member of our team,” Jake Eilerman, Senior Actuarial and Data Science Manager, said. “She is continually looking to innovate and improve our actuarial processes and analyses. These designations are a giant accomplishment as she becomes a leader at Celina.”
