CELINA, Ohio, July 24, 2025 — Shannon Osterfeld, Actuary at Celina Insurance Group, recently became a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS).

An FCAS designation signifies the highest level of professional achievement for property and casualty Actuaries, and it requires years of study and perseverance. Actuarial candidates must pass a series of challenging exams to become credentialed.

“What I enjoy about being an Actuary is being able to use analytics to help drive real-world decisions. Every day, I get to solve complex problems using a combination of data, math and critical thinking,” Osterfeld said. “The FCAS designation has equipped me with a deeper understanding of complex actuarial methods in ratemaking, reserving and risk management, and I hope to leverage these skills to provide value to both the company and our policyholders.”

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Osterfeld has worked for Celina for six years. She is also a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

“Shannon is an instrumental part of our team, and we’re thrilled to celebrate her remarkable achievement,” Jake Eilerman, Senior Actuarial and Data Science Manager, said. “The FCAS is widely recognized for its rigor, integrity and relevance in the property and casualty insurance industry. Earning this designation is a testament to Shannon’s skill and determination.”
